PLANET SATELLITE README Keith Paine 1 July 2012

Unzip to your FS9 Aircraft folder. ( It should show up as 'Satellite').

Copy or transfer the fx_engstrt_PS.fx file to your Effects folder

It might be advisable to extract/unzip the Sat.cab files & place them in a new folder labelled 'Sat' within the panel folder as this seems to allow the speeding up of loading the aircraft. (This certainly seems to help FSX) You can then delete or save in a separate area the .cab file.

In FSX the MR60 VHF Radio Pop up does not appear when selecting the Radio Icon, but it will if pressing SHIFT+5.

Sound is aliased to the DH Comet, but I suggest that you download Gary Jones' Proctor sounds.

-------------------------------------oooooOOOOOOOOooooo-------------------

As the aircraft was never really flown there are no Pilots Notes, but the following are the design parameters:

Vne (never exceed airspeed)............................................................= 287 mph (250 kts)
Cruise speed (= 2100 rpm & -3 psi @ SL)................................................= 190 mph (165 kts)
Undercarriage max speed................................................................= 140 mph (121 kts)**
Flaps max speed........................................................................= 120 mph (105 kts)**
Stall speed full flaps.................................................................= 60 mph (52 kts)
Recommended approach speed full flaps..................................................= 80 mph (69 kts)**
Max still air range....................................................................= 1000 st miles (870 N miles)

** These are my estimates.

After that information one needs to take account of the C of G for take off, so depending upon passengers:-
If fully loaded, Elevator trim needs to be about 5 nose up
If Pilot only, Elevator trim needs to be 5 nose down.

Flaps & undercarriage affect trim as one would expect.

Note that the propeller is Constant speed but is an automatic mechanical type so has no Propeller lever.

Commands:
SHIFT+E = Left Door Open/close
TailHook= Right door Open/Close

Doors & windows also open/close using the mouse in the VC view.

'I' (smoke) rotates the co-pilots seat back to assist climbing in or out of the rear - be careful not to hurt the female!!!

The Pilot will appear/disappear in external view with the Water Rudder command (SHIFT+W in FS9, CTRL+W in FSX) Note that the C of G does not change with this action.

The Passengers & Co-pilot can be made to disappear by removing their payload in the on screen drop down payload menu, this also affects the payload of course as well as the C of G.

SHIFT+2 = King Air Radio & Nav Aids
SHIFT+3 = Murphy MR60 5 channel VHF (1950's contempory radio)
SHIFT+4 = Centre Console (Fuel cock, Throttle, Mixture, Elevator trim, handbrake)
SHIFT+5 = Roof Panel (Carb Heat, Primer, Master Battery, Magnetos, Nav & Landing lamps)
SHIFT+6 = GPS
SHIFT+7 = P8 Compass
(The above will also appear/disappear when clicking on the 'Compass Correction card' entries)
